Delivery Information:

  • Deliveries are made Monday to Saturday. Rural, Saturday and Monday delivery costs extra. Order by 12noon in order for next day delivery.
  • We cannot guarantee delivery dates, as your gift is in the hands of NZ Post once it leaves us. If your order is for a specific event or date, please order ahead to be safe.
  • Rural delivery takes an extra day, and our gifts stay chilled for 2-3 days so the food will arrive safely. We can't deliver to rural addresses on Saturdays.

This one of our most popular Care Packages, and makes the perfect gift when you want to really help out a family having a busy or hard time. The Main Event delivers a gorgeous box of hand made fresh family-sized meals to the door to fill the fridge or freezer and help lighten the load.

The Main Event

Three generous pre-prepared family meals to cook in the oven or microwave (each meal serves 4-6 people and is approx. 1.2kg). Handmade by chefs in Wellington with local ingredients.

  • Classic Beef Lasagne - A true classic! Locally sourced beef simmered in tomatoes and herbs, layered in pasta and topped with a rich cheese sauce.
  • Chicken & Tarragon Pie - Tender pieces of chicken, potato, and fresh spinach, cooked with fragrant tarragon in a light, creamy sauce, all nestled beneath a beautiful layer of flaky pastry.
  • Kumara and Lentil Cottage Pie (gf/v) - A herby, tomato lentil base, packed with hearty lentils and beans, with a golden kumara topping and sunflower seeds, makes for a cosy bake that will warm you up from the inside out.

Vegetarian? The Main Event is available in Vegetarian, with a Kumara & Lentil Cottage Pie, Roast Capsicum Tomato & Feta Tart (contains cheese), and Vegetable Korma Pie as the 3 meal options. Sorry but we can't do a Vegan Main Event option.

        The priority overnight delivery cost for this gift is $35 (+$15 for Rural or Saturday delivery). The exact delivery fee to your exact address will be shown on the Checkout page.

        We deliver gifts nationwide across New Zealand to all addresses, including rural gift delivery. We deliver from Monday-Saturday (no Sunday deliveries). Monday, Saturday, Rural and Same-Day delivery costs extra.

        Important note: Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. If your order is for a specific date or event (like a birthday), please order a day ahead to be safe.

        • What Time Do I Need to Order By? - If you need next day delivery, please make sure your order is placed before 12noon the day before. Cut-off times for same-day delivery vary depending on the region - it will be clear what date is available for your postcode when you enter this on the above calendar date picker.
        • Rural Delivery - Rural delivery usually takes 2 days to arrive, and costs an extra $15. Our fresh meal care packages and flowers are packaged well, with plenty of ice and insulation where needed, in order to stay chilled for 2-3 days, so your gift will arrive safely. If you'd prefer, you can nominate an urban pick-up point for gifts bound for rural addresses. NZ Post has many pick-up points, so please call us on 0800 826 435 to discuss - we can make it as convenient as possible for the recipients.
        • Time of Delivery - We cannot specify the time of delivery on a given day sorry, as individual courier schedules in each suburb change from one day to another and this is out of our control.
        • Public Holidays - Gifts cannot be dispatched or delivered on public holidays, as couriers do not operate on these days.

        I actually sent a delivery to myself as I was getting out of hospital after a knee replacement. I had three different recipes, lasagna, vegetable pie and chicken and tarragon pie. That's all arrived well packed. And was well received in the time where we needed it most.
        Food safety was my number one priority. I think a pamphlet showing how food safety protocol as here too would be beneficial..
        The instructions given to heat up at 180 for 30 to 40 minutes did not produce a hot enough meal.
        once he says I think this meal probably is not safe to keep and that should be explained in the delivery.
        It was very difficult to courier meals and I think you've done a fabulous job on the whole. I absolutely enjoyed the chicken tarragon pie. Unfortunately, the meals are probably too expensive for us to continually get them.
        But you're doing a great job, so keep it up.
