Our New Recyclable Packaging

Posted on May 28, 2019 by Grace Kreft

Beautiful, sturdy and recyclable!

This week we're really excited to share with you our brand new packaging.

Here at Angel Delivery, there is an important balance between making sure our packages arrive safely and chilled (food is delicate and needs carefully thought out packaging!), with minimising the environmental impact of the products we use.

That's why we're so excited to welcome our new recyclable cardboard delivery boxes. Not only beautifully designed especially for Angel Delivery, these boxes are super sturdy and also entirely recyclable. What do you think?!

Woolcool

Hiding inside is more sustainable goodness as well. We keep our goodies chilled during transit by using Woolcool. Woolcool is made right here in New Zealand from 100% pure NZ sheep wool, and keeps food products below 5 degrees for at least 24 hours! It's entirely made with sustainable, compostable, recyclable or recycled materials.

Zero Waste & Recycling

Our team at Angel HQ are also working hard behind-the-scenes to make sure all the other (many!) components of our packaging for our food products are recyclable. Our foil meal containers and plastic soup containers are recyclable, and our 'Angel Delivery' branded tissue paper is biodegradable.

Angel HQ has many recycling bins parked outside - including separate bins for paper, plastic and cardboard - which are emptied by a dedicated service weekly or fortnightly. The team take it very seriously to make sure all items end up in the right place!

Our aim is to be zero waste and fully recyclable. We're dedicated to making big and small changes all the time to move in the right direction. If you have any ideas, thoughts, or questions, please let us know anytime. We're all ears!

Recipe - Valentines Day Home-Made Chocolates

Posted on February 11, 2019 by Grace Kreft

Did you know you can make delicious chocolates at home with just an ice-cube tray…?!

This is a really simple and fun way to make a thoughtful home-made Valentine's Day gift for a friend, partner, kiddies or teacher.

Pack them up in a cute box and tie with heart ribbon, to finish the gift off perfectly.

Here are the steps

  • Grab a silicone ice-cube tray. We used a heart shaped one, but there are lots of fun shapes available.
  • Melt your chocolate - we use good quality like Whittakers Dark Chocolate. Put around teaspoon of chocolate in each cube-hole, and use the spoon to spread up the sides (make sure there are no holes), then chill in the fridge until set.
  • Once chilled, fill each shell with a filling of your (or your valentines!) choice - don't fill right to the top. Try Nutella, peanut butter, raspberry jam, or peppermint creme (just mix icing sugar, peppermint essence to taste and a drop or two of water, to make a smooth consistency).
  • Top with more melted chocolate over the filling, make sure it's all sealed without holes or bubbles. Bang the tray on the bench to smooth the top, and chill again.
  • Once they are fully set, pop your choccies out of the ice-cube tray (silicone makes this very easy!) and enjoy with your valentine!

  • Happy Valentine's Day! xo

If you get stuck, remember we have some gorgeous Valentine's Day hampers available to order for delivery directly to your Valentine or to a family you love on Valentine's Day. Order soon so you don't miss out on this popular delivery date - Click here to order.
